All are welcome at our table
Our commitment is to bring you fresh, authentic South Indian dishes made with love and your family's health in mind. More than simply good food, John's South Indian Kitchen is on a mission to better lives and invite new friends into a taste of true South Indian hospitality.
Inspired by Amma
Bringing the taste of Chennai, Tamilnadu, India to Central Florida.
John grew up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu — a city on the south-eastern coast of India known for its rich food heritage and deep sense of hospitality. At a young age, he developed a love for cooking as he watched his Amma (mother) joyfully serve their family and community with food.
Her genuine love and generosity through food inspired John to join her in the kitchen — and planted a seed that would eventually travel thousands of miles from home.
Amma taught us that food is one of the most powerful ways to love people well.
Inspired by family, carried forward for every table we serve

A Food Journey Beginning With Restoration
John received his Masters of Social Work in 2007 and began working with International Justice Mission (IJM), serving families and communities across South India.
For the next eleven years, John helped rescue and rehabilitate survivors and their children from slavery and forced labor trafficking across South India.
That same heart for hospitality came with John to Orlando, where food became a way to share home, welcome new friends, and keep serving others.
Today, every purchase helps support education for children rescued from slavery in South India, carrying the mission forward through every meal served.
More Than a Meal
A portion of every purchase pays for the education of children rescued from slavery in South India. Before opening John's South Indian Kitchen, John spent over a decade as a social worker rescuing and rehabilitating survivors of forced labor trafficking across South India.
When you gather around our table, you become part of a bigger story — one of restoration, dignity, and hope carried across thousands of miles from home.
